HISTORY OF THE MONASTERY
The historical residence is a national monument, situated in the medieval village of Frontino, near the city of Urbino, Rimini and San Marino. It was built in the early years of the XVI century and it is the result of a scrupolous restoration (maintaining the original frescos )of an important monastery, with annexed church and a prestigious art gallery. In the past many monastery-brothers lived there. They were followers of a Saint whose origine was from Dalmazia: their spiritual life was dedicated to the prayer and to the translation and copy of old books of our culture.
DESCRIPTION OF THE MONASTERY
The Residence has 17 rooms, with 34 beds, a restaurant of 80 places surrounded by a park having century-old oaks, a refectory and its frescos and an old-age church with its cloister.
The Restaurant is very smart and comfortable, it was built in a country style. It is possible to take genuine food inside the restaurant or outside, in the terrace, surrounded by a panormaic view of the country. The menu is based on the typical food of the place which is rich of ancient tastes. The cooking style links the old and new traditions in a very interesting mix of taste for your palate.
