 HISTORY OF THE VILLA
The history of the Villa is strictly bound to the birth of Altino a small village, 4 kms far from the hotel. During the Roman domination, the town was a very important centre thanks its harbour on the river Sile and the construction of the Appia and the Imperial street Claudia Augusta street. In 313 b.C. Altino became a Bishop siege thanks the Edict of Constantine, later the town was devasted by the barbarian Attila and Altino was definitely abandonee. The Villa rised along the river Sile in 1563, as residence of Bishop in Torcello and Venetian nobles. A very important year was the 1692, when the owner at that time Marco Giustinian - Bishop ordered the imposing restoration of his new residence giving to it the actual aspect. After wards the building became property of the Venetian nobility since the early '90s it was bought by the Pasini family, who decide the entire restoration of the structure and the surrounding natural park, respecting the historical and naturalistic worth of the neighbouring territory.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA
Immersed in the countryside of Veneto region and standing along the right hand-bank of the river Sile, the Villa consists of spacious SUITES with whirlpool tub and sitting room, JUNIOR SUITE, Standard DOUBLE ROOM, SUPERIOR ROOM and SINGLE ROOM with French bed. All the rooms, fitted with whirlpool shower and small private garden, are spacious, well furnished in Classic Style and fitted with all the modern comforts: telephone with direct dealing and fax writing, modem line isdn, hair-dryer, radio, pay-Tv, sat Tv, fridge, air conditioning, safety-boxes and SMOKING or NO SMOKING ROOMS. Some rooms have view over the river, others over the swimming pool or point out the nice garden along the river private beach with sun beds and umbrellas. The nice RESTAURANT of the hotel, situated in the adjacent village called Casale sul Sile easily reachable in 2,5 km., is known for the excellent quality of the food based only on fish. The most typical specialities are the delicious hors-d'oeuvre of uncooked fish. The abundant BREAKFAST is given at Buffet with fresh fruits, hand-made biscuits and cakes. The hotel is also furnished with an outdoor SWIMMING POOL situated in a private area along the river Sile, where there is a small private beach on grass, well furnished with sun beds. The hotel provides a Limousine Service and a Porterage Service. 3 km. away from Quarto d'Altino there is the NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM and the ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREAS OF ALTINO where is possible to admire excavations still opened. The exposition contains material almost exclusively dating from the I Cent. A.D. In a couple of kilometers there are the very nice Castle in Roncade, the Church in Casale sul Sile and Meolo.
