HISTORY OF THE VILLA
It was a wedding gift to princess Luisa Dal Pozzo della Cisterna from her bridegroom Ferdinando Arborio, Duke of Sartirana, Marquis of Bremè in 1827, who chose this villa to be his lake-dwelling residence and still today it belongs to the Marquises D. P. d'Annone, who preserves its ancient flavour.Sail: family tradition It is important to remember that the first sailing regattas on the Lake Maggiore took place exactly in Belgirate and that the first sports club called "delle regate" ("of the regattas") was founded in Belgirate by famous enthusiasts of that period, among whom Marquis Franco D.P. d'Annone, grandfather of the today's owners of the Villa.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA
A luxurious bed and breakfast in the splendid setting of the Lake Maggiore, among all the villas that catch the eye, it is definitely one of the most beautiful and prestigious ones, situated on the marvellous and famous Piedmont coast, conserving today more than ever all its flavour of the Victorian Age. The furnishings, with pieces of furniture and paintings of elevated calibre, dating back to the 15th until the 19th Century, makes this Villa very particular and above all full of charm. Today, it is partly opened to a limited number of guests. It is situated near the typical "village Charmant" called Belgirate, which can be reached following the old Simplon road, not far away from the famous resort Stresa. Rooms are all provided with bath and shower, up-dated comforts like telephone, mini-bar, satellite TV and a personal safe. Six elegantly furnished suites, all with authentic furnishings of that period, without neglecting the comforts like telephone, mini-bar, satellite TV and snack bar service. Breakfast served on a rich buffet in the dining room of the Villa, or upon request, served in guests' accommodation. American Bar. Swimming pool in the garden, fitness centre, equipped with sauna and Turkish bath, united with the healthy well-being of the walking tours in the "life and nature" routes in the 5 hectares of the surrounding park. Private boat service to the islands or to the nearby Switzerland. Private car service, upon request, from the airport or train station. The gardens of the villa offer the opportunity to land with a helicopter. In certain periods of the year it offers an exclusive use of some pertinences for conferences, weddings, business presentations, conventions for clubs and meetings for business.
